Where does Invisible Orbits get its name?

Orbits are, of course, the curved path that a planet or satellite takes around a celestial body like the sun or earth. But orbits are also the usual path that one's life takes and the spheres of influence that a person or an organization reaches. These orbits are critical to our success and well being, but are often invisible even to the people or organizations at the center. A big part of what we hope to do is help people see the orbits they are a part of and perhaps even gently nudge them onto a better trajectory.

Who hosts I/O?

Invisible Orbits is a conversation hosted and produced by We Must Be Bold and its Managing Director, Hugh Weber. We Must Be Bold is a statement of intent, a call to engage and a community design studio. We discover, design and launch communities for courageous people and the organizations they love.

Where does WMBB get its name?

We Must Be Bold gets its name from a speech given by President Kennedy in 1962. In one of the many masterful sections of the speech, he’s explaining just how hard it will be to put a person on the moon. After explaining fully the challenge ahead, he simply says, “We must be bold.” It seems fitting for an organization focused on a rallying communities to accomplish the impossible together.

Do you think you push the space theme a bit too far?

Never.
